Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

Have you guys read Little Fires Everywhere by the amazing Celeste Ng? This is my second read. This book has received so many raving reviews. A little over 300 pages, it was a very enjoyable read even for the second time. I read it in January 2019 but I picked it up again after watching its tv adaptation at Hulu starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington which is also good, btw.

It all began with the fire that burned down the Richardson house. Their already perfect lifestyle, except the occasional outburst of the youngest daughter, got some changes when Mrs. Richardson rented out their extra house to a single mother and her daughter—Mia and Pearl. Mia is a struggling artist moving from place to place to hide from a secret past. The lives of the members of these two families tangled ever since day one. The story also intertwined with the town’s latest event of who should be the rightful parent(s) of the baby left at the fire station: her own mother who abandoned her first when things are tough but wanted to get the baby back when she could managed things in her life? Or the couple who are in process of adopting the kid? Chapter by chapter, the writer takes us to the beginning of everything with colourful narration.
